About

The Superior Word is a Bible-based church in Sarasota, Florida. We are located at 6512 Superior Avenue in a small strip mall. It’s a small church setting, but it is full of love and great fellowship.

Our belief is that the Bible is sufficient for proper knowledge in our faith and practice and that it testifies to the Triune God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is the visible, tangible manifestation of our Creator and our worship is directed to God through Him.

The goal of the Superior Word is to glorify God, teach proper doctrine, and ensure that those who attend receive sound instruction in the doctrines of the Bible.

We love Jesus and it is our heart to proclaim Him until He comes.

Our sermons are available on YouTube, they can be found on this site, and some can also be accessed at SermonAudio at this link – https://www.sermonaudio.com/source_detail.asp?sourceid=thesuperiorword

    Hi Charlie!

My name is Kathy and I emailed you about two months back. I was the one that listened/followed MTOI but was in the “bondage” of the old testament teachings.
Anyway, I was wondering when you and I think you said Sergio were going to do sermon/s on Jesus Christ’s genealogy or how he became the person through the blood of ancestoral lineage? I think you mentioned it a while back and I thought that would be a fascinating study.

Hope your day is filled with joy and happiness. Relax and soak in His love.

    Regards,

      Hi Kathy,

By itself, that would be a pretty cool teaching. While going through Genesis, I always commented on who was in His line. That obviously slows down as the lineage narrows. But if you are watching those Genesis sermons (?) you will for sure see that. At some point, I may do that after finishing Deuteronomy. It’s a great idea!

    Hello Pastor Garrett,
Just recently discovered your ministries from Superior Word and heard you mention you have theological disagreements with John McCarthur, I have heard some of his sermons in the last year but not enough to be an expert. I understand some basic theological differences of Calvinism but wanted to pick your brain on other concerns you may have. Scripture reminds us to beware and to test the spirit with scripture and wanted to follow up with your comment on last Prophecy Report. Also liked your mention on putting down the remote and picking up the Bible , don’t hear that from many churches as much anymore. Thank your for taking a bold stance and proclaiming the Word.

Pablo, the main disagreement I have is with Lordship salvation, of which he is the author. Here is a link to the sermon I did on it. He is part II I believe -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yD3fGO6wfrc&list=PL6Xj_bNWUPxezJcGfj8fiYkXjXm1d-Fzw&index=8&t=8s

This is such a basic error that it really calls into question what he is thinking.

Have a most blessed week ahead.

    Charlie,
Let me begin by saying, thank you. Cant tell you what your sermon on Galatians, thursday meant. I have been struggling with the very thing you spoke about. Now, I wish to give you the answer that you repeated over and over. ” what works, what works?” matt. 4, 18-22, basically, yashuah said ” I will make you fishers of men” . THAT IS our works as fellow cristians I believe, we all have the work of sharing Christ. I would appreciate if you could contact me, I would like to ask one thing from you, (its not a big thing). Thank you sir!

Thank you Brian. I’m glad the class blessed you. And I agree, we are to share the gospel. But there are even those who do so, but do not do it in faith. If not in faith, it is still a good thing (Philippians 1:18), but it is a work for which they will receive no reward. Will send an email now.
