I was in a 3 day mourning for my husband who has aggressive cancer. Sobbing and praying in bitterness remembered Ruth. Read her story and noticed 6 measures of Barley and knew there was significance. (Every detail is significant) Through simple search found your commentary, but really God’s commentary. It opened understanding of Ruth in a wonderous way of which I praise God. Then I listened to Esther and again wonderous is God’s word.
Now I am in Ezra deeply reading and find Ezra 10:15 captivating and wonder what the names mean in this one. Were these men listed with the guilty? They opposed divorce which God says he doesn’t like. And in New Testament reiterates to stay with your wife if they are an unbeliever.

You also mentioned the word Aya. Which in Cherokee means “I am” and also means “we are”. Just a side note about the dispersement of God’s people. There are also other words similar to hebrew. But ultimately it is the word of God that reigns forever and I thank him for letting a simple humble person read it. May God bless your ministry and keep you accurate to his word.

Thank you for your kind comments. I am so sorry about your husband’s cancer, and I shall pray for him. No matter what the Lord decides, may He be merciful to him. I have yet to get to Ezra, but they disagreed with the decision rendered. Your insight into divorce and the New Testament is rather outstanding. I will have to contemplate this and see if I can come up with something solid for you.

Here are the meaning of their three names –

      Jonathan – http://www.abarim-publications.com/Meaning/Jonathan.html#.W3IGqOhKiUk
      Jahzeiah – http://www.abarim-publications.com/Meaning/Jahzeiah.html#.W3IGy-hKiUk
      Meshullam – http://www.abarim-publications.com/Meaning/Meshullam.html#.W3IG5-hKiUk

I am sorry to not give you more insights, but I have been typing another sermon since 4am. It is now 6:30pm. I can no longer think too clearly.

If you have any questions or need any prayers, please email me at the contact link on the site. Thank you SO very much for your lesson on Cherokee. The Lord has composed the languages of all people and there are hints of His plan of redemption in them – of this I am confident. Someday we will understand the things that are hidden now.

Rebekah, God bless you and may the Lord be kind to you and your husband through this most difficult time.
