The Copper Cross

Mar 26, 2017   //   by Charlie Garrett   //   The Copper Cross  //  No Comments

A fine gentleman who attends the Superior Word used to make crosses in his spare time. After suffering a stroke, he could no longer make them. In the kindest of gestures, he gave me the last one he ever made. He also gave me the tools necessary to make them, and I have taken up doing this. If you come across this page and desire to have one, I will be happy to make one for you. In order to not charge for doing this, if you would be willing to pay the amount for the next person who wants one, then you would be, in essence, preaching the Gospel in order to deepen the faith of another believer.

Time permitting, I will be happy to make one for you and send it on to you. If you would like to follow the ideal of paying for the next one, my costs are about $25.00 which would include the shipping within the US to someone else. Overseas gets expensive, but I am willing to do even that if it will bless you and someone else.  The one on the desk (photo below) is the one Tod made for me. It is an honor to have it there in remembrance of his kindness to me.

But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Galatians 6:14

For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God unto salvation. 1 Corinthians 1:18
(It is that in which he declares his marvellous power in saving his elect, which would not so evidently appear if it depended upon any help of man. For if it did man might attribute that to himself which is to be attributed only to the cross of Christ. Geneva Bible Commentary on 1 Corinthians 1:18)
