Is God Hiding from You?

  • Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead right before the Pharisees eyes and they did not believe but instead were more convinced than ever that they had to kill him. If God hides because he loves and respects, how do you square that with the God who is nowhere to be seen when the first couple in Genesis eat the forbidden fruit and then promptly appears and immediately curses this first immature couple and kicks them out of the Garden forever, without a chance at repentence?

    • They did repent, after their sin. They were covered by the Lord and sent about their way. All is as it should be.

  • I Just recently come across your site and you speak about the Holy Spirit but w/ no detail…
Acts 19:6, 10:46, 2:4, 1 1Corinth 14 all show Speaking in Tongues as evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit..
What evidence is there that we received something from God and not just man or a particular group saying we did without this evidence or edifying of His Spirit….

Many scriptures tell us to beware of false prophets..

    • Rob,

Citing something about “false prophets” at the bottom of your comment leaves it completely open as to whether you are speaking about me, or whether you are simply making a general statement. I at first responded taking it in the negative, but I will give you the benefit of the doubt, having deleted that comment. There is only one way to tell if something is from God or not, and that is if it comes from His word. In the Old Testament, they had proofs of a prophet (Deut 13 & 18). We have no prophets now. The Lord has spoken through His apostles, and He has given us His word. We are not to expect extra-biblical revelation. The word is written. If what someone says does not align with that word, in context, it is not of God. Acts is a descriptive book. It prescribes nothing. 1 Corinthians 14 (along with the entire book) is analyzed, verse by verse, at this link – http://superiorword.org/category/writings/epistles-written/1-corinthians/ I also have it in one long running commentary at this link – http://www.wonderful1.com/1_Corinthians_Book_Study.html

I will assume that you were simply speaking about false prophets in a general sense. If so, yes, beware of them.

      Be blessed.

      Charlie
